A soild intermediate french horn, this horn is perfect for a developing student needing their first full double French Horn. It is a yellow brass, with nickel trim fixed bell horn equipped with mechanical linkage and a rose brass leadpipe. The bore is 12mm.
Cosmetically there are signs of use however, this does not take away for the way the horn plays. Price: £1000 |
Although badged "B&H 400 made by Josef Lidl" Boosey & Hawkes did not have their own design of Triple French Horn therefore had Lidl, who manufactured their French Horns, to apply the B&H badge to a Lidl designed instrument for custom orders. This horn would have been manufactured in the early 90's with the standard Lidl 921 features.
The horn is 11.7mm single bore throughout, gold brass with a fixed bell and mechanical linkages. It is fully tunable on F-basso/ Bb/ F-alto and has a tunable leadpipe instead of the standard main tuning slide. The horn is equipt with 6 valves in a 5+1 (A-stopping) arrangement with two waterkey levers. The instrument's lacquer is almost perfect with only a couple of tiny spots missing in the left hand holding postion. There are a couple of repaired creases in the bell which are hardly noticable and we can't find any signs of other dents anywhere else on the horn. The horn comes complete with hard case and mouthpiece. Price: £1500 |
